A very interesting presentation this week by Mr George Robson this week about “Ours”.
George is a collector of many things but postage Stamps is one of his most outstanding collections. His presentation was about the British empire from 1850 to today,
Showing a world map with the British countries in Pink saying a lot of them were islands which are tactically positioned around the world to supply the Navy’s needs and compared that with the current 19 who are still governed by England noting all but one have the Union Jack on their country’s flags.
George named each of the 19 and showed them on a world map, he also showed some of their Postage Stamps, and to bring us up to today he showed a 1p Red Queen Elizabeth stamp, a white 1p Queen Elizabeth (with QR code) and a blue 1p King Charles stamp (with QR code).
Questions followed to conclude the presentation.
